1. Team North Kariya
1. Scored the most points out of anyone from two weeks
2. Highest performer coming from McDavid, I guess we should start a new religion called McDavidism
3. Samsonov proving to be a worthy pickup early this season, hopefully Toronto doesn't get diarrhea in bed
4. Hopefully this team does not skate into anyone with the last name Stevens
2. Indianapolis Racers 
1. Stamkos currently bolting out of the gates, someone should tell him that he isn't in Indianapolis though
2. Ryan O'Reilly proving to be the biggest flop for this team through two weeks, I guess that's what happens when you play for St Louis (This reporter has a strong hatred for the Blues so take that into account)
3. Who knows when Indianapolis will get hockey again but it's flourishing right now in this fantasy league
3. RockYou LikeAHurriKane
1. Through two weeks this reporter has been proven wrong, I guess Ted Lasso has given me a different perspective again
2. Defense really coming through to the forefront for this team, who knew Trouba would actually be a good pick. Normally he gets suspended, hopefully for this team Trouba won't get suspended for bullshit
3. Strangely Patrick Kane was traded, I guess when you have to yell at your teammate to not dump the puck on a powerplay will do that to an owner.
4. I Am Ron Burgundy?
1. Someone should tell Veronica Corningstone to change the teleprompter so that no accidents happen in the near future
2.  Rat Man is still on the bench which is good because the NHL doesn't need anymore of him, hopefully he's out as long as Landeskog.
3. The Chu Chu train from Colorado is steaming ahead like the Polar Express and hopefully this train doesn't run off the rails.
4. Great team but fortunate to be undefeated as opponents have done poorly
5. Chicago Goldens
1. Chicago is not golden and is turning into bronze as tanking for draft picks hasn't quite worked out for them. 
2. No outstanding players but all of the team is contributing to the success of this owner.
3. The Mack attack is not fully back Jack as the Avs struggle
6. Surging To Victory
1. Owner is quite forgetful as she cannot set a lineup to save her life however somehow she's managed to be 0.500 right now.
2. Sid the Kid is taking off with this team as the Penguins seem to have their skates on fire to start out the season
3. Goaltenders have completely saved this team Jarry and Ullmark are one of the best one two punch in the league.
4. I am forced to compliment this owner otherwise I am put in the silent treatment and timeout #helpme.
7.  Rockford Dagger
1. Previously ranked last, and the optimism of this reporter has apparently come true as this team has started hot out the blocks
2. Has many influential players on IR but the team overall have contributed mightily to early success.
3. Relying on Mika's flow to condition and shampoo the team into being a worthy adversary in this league.
8.  Staal Tactics
1. ESPN has this team ranked 6 however this team has been very fortunate having the lowest points against in the league.
2. Parking the bus on their opponents has proved somewhat successful but this tactic could get their ankles broken just like Blackhawks forwards against Cale Makar.
3. Kucherov has not been a flop but has not been as impactful as this team needs him to be.
4. Top D for the Canes have not been great but have not been terrible so take that for what it is.
9. TurntheLightsOff
1. Svech scoring a hat trick has been extremely beneficial to this team and Pastrnak has been cooking up some good dinners for the last two weeks.
2. Someone should tell the owner that when goaltenders leave the Avs they don't do shit so they should probably trade Kuemper since he's going to need a new eye like Thor in Infinity War
3. The lights are not turned off but there might be some sort of flickering in the electricity of this team.
10. Fleece City Sakics
1. Although 0-2, this team is still quite strong even though they have come up against the top two in the league.
2. Makar seems to be the only one on this team to want to show up to play, so maybe he should start feeding Cale to others on the team.
1. I'm looking at you Kyle Connor!!!!!!
3. Trades with this team could prove very beneficial as they are up against the 11th seed this week.
11. Your Moms Aho
1. Probably should not insult your opponent when you get beat, and you might want to send an apology gift to the opponent's mother.
2. Facing some of the medium difficulty teams in this league and has been proving very challenging, I'm worried for this team when coming up against some of the top teams in the league.
3. This team has not been outputting the success needed other than the great 8, Sergachev and Lindholm.
1. Malkin, Scheifele, and Devon Toews need to start finding some moms quickly for this team
12. Team Tuuka My Rask
1. Someone tell Tuuka that he should stand up to the top teams in this league and get his Rask back. 
2. Forwards on this team don't know how to get points but the defense does, what a weird turnaround for hockey guess that's what happens when Tuuka Rask gets benched.
3. Did Sepp Blatter enter this league because their must be some kind of interference with how this team is winless.
13. The Wu-Tanguay Clan
1. Tanguay is retired and some of the players on this team might as well with how long they could be on the IR for.
2. Barkov and Kuznetsov have not been listening to Wu-Tang as much as they should in order to succeed for this team.
3. Goaltending for this team has severely struggled, a trade for a better goaltender would be the best option before the goalies go from cheddar cheese to swiss cheese. 
14. Raleighwood Surge
1. Raleighwood has not surged to Hollywood as their currently not making the walk of fame yet as the trades have not fully been detailed.
2. The team is struggling from a lack of chemistry, just like the Lakers in the NBA.
3. Heavy reliance on Vancouver unfortunately that has not panned out to the owner's liking yet as the Canucks are trying to imitate the Falcons from the Super Bowl against the Patriots.
4. This team has the bacon to sound the siren to make a comeback in this league.

In typical NHL schedule fashion, we have gone 9 days since the start of the season and we have arrived at the first day without any games, so we release this article on a Sunday. Instead of spreading games out, I know what a concept, the NHL has decided to schedule many teams with back-to-back games right out of the gate. This includes the two games that started the season overseas between the Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks (have actually played two back-to-back games). The Washington Captitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, defending Stanley Cup Champions Colorado Avalanche, Seattle Kraken, Detriot Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Columbus Blue Jackets, have all completed their first set of consecutive games of the season.

Statement from the Commissioner

Good evening General Managers and Owners of the Mile High Pundit and WoHawkey - Chaos Fantasy Hockey League,

With the official start of the NHL season tonight I only saw fitting to welcome you all to the 2022/23 MiHi/WoHo Fantasy Hockey Season presented by Chaos Hockey. With how successful the draft lottery and draft was we are extremely excited for the puck to drop at MSG at 7:30ET.

For those of you returning for your second season under my “leadership” I feel sorry for you that you decided to come back. To our new friends from Sus Saturday, SurgeCast, Let’s Talk WoHawkey, and the infamous Locked On Twitter spaces we welcome you to this shitshow that is a fantasy hockey league that Jared runs.

I would also like to recognize our former champions. The 2021/22 2nd season champion has returned to defend his throne, Mr. Dalton Adams. Also our 2017/18 and 2021/22 1st season champion Mr. Kaleb Cornell.

I would like to wish you all nothing but the best in your quest for the trophy. May the hockey gods give you loads of Genos and the coveted “S” word we will not speak of.

Good evening,

Unfortunately, due to ESPN settings, we are unable to edit the size of the active roster. We are only able to increase the Bench and IR slots. At the completion of the 2022/23 season, we will revisit the roster sizes and look to correct this error in the future. We thank you for your understanding in this matter. We will not be taking further questions at this time.

1st Overall 1st in Conference	North Kariya Donnie Walters	Many players dropped, added, and placed on IR. Let's see how that turns out when players comes back from IR. GM, Donnie Walters is looking for the Edmonton Oilers first line to carry the team by picking up Connor McDavid (1st overall pick) and Evander Kane (56th overall pick) in the draft. Solid defense with the goaltender position lacking a superstar. Questionable team name, but it will be allowed. Strange decision to pick up New York Rangers enforcer, Ryan Reaves, and then drop him immediately after the draft.
2nd Overall 2nd in Conference	Your Moms Aho Dalton Adams	Many top tier players for individual teams. Added St. Louis foward, Brayden Schenn, through waivers and then immediately dropped in favor of Boston Bruins blueliner, Hampus Lindholm. YOLO moment? Defense is balanced with hitters and some point scoring.
4th Overall 3rd in Conference	I Am Ron Burgundy? Kaleb Cornell	Top quality team name. Defense would be the strongest point for this team. Looking for a breakout season from Barzal. Contains the Rat Man but it will be allowed by this reporter.
5th Overall 4th in Conference	Fleece City Sakics Jared Shuck	Quality forwards as they are not the best player on the team but mightily contribute with goals and points. Has the best defensemen in the NHL, don't come at this reporter with other defensemen. Goaltenders are decent, however they play on teams with questionable defenses.
7th Overall 5th in Conference	The Wu-Tanguay Clan Joel James	Name was very creative, one this reporter has not seen yet. Stole Landeskog from Surging to Victory! after a misclick. Has two top Minnesota Wild players which is weird for an Avs fan. Overall solid team.
10th Overall 6th in Conference	Chicago Goldens Sierra Ogbourne (Shuck)	Looking for MacK attack to come back Jack! Defense apart from Letang is lacking but made up for with quality goaltenders. No added players which makes this reporter very happy.
12th Overall 7th in Conference	Team Tuukka My Rask Hunter Hodies	Thank god for not added any players. Looking for Draisatl to carry this team on his back, just like Lamar Jackson for the Ravens. Decent team but they do have Binnington so how decent can they actually be.

Hoping that Josi can put up another 90 point season but this reporter is unsure about another 90 points. Goaltenders are average and not the cream of the crop. On top of adding players and tends to be rude to this reporter.

Picked up a lot of players that have been traded to other teams so let's see if it pays off for them Cotton. Clearly has some favoritism towards the Canes as they already traded for another Canes player. Three Canes players more than anyone else for a particular team.
9th Overall 4th in Conference	Surging to Victory! Bailey Curtis	Barely squeaks at the 9 spot or else this reporter's food will be poisoned. When Aho comes up against Your Mom's Aho, tensions may rise. Quality team overall, but nothing outstanding.
11th Overall 5th in Conference	Turn TheLights Off Spencer Post	Traded very early which was strange, especially giving away Slavin. Has quality players in Svech, Pasta, and Hedman. But the rest of the team is lacking slightly, even with Giroux possibly playing with Debrincat. Giroux could be a massive boom or bust. The season shall decide. Team has favoritism for former Avalanche goalies. Hard to rank this team but being slightly less pessimistic as many players could flourish or disintegrate.
13th Overall 6th in Conference	RockYou LikeAHurriKane Beth Bolger	Not a Canes fan but a Blackhawks fan, what a strange choice. Quality goaltending with Shesterkin and possibly Georgiev but the future holds the answer. Team is struggling but it is because this team has some players that are just on some bad teams so how well will they actually do? Unfortunately had to place McAvoy on IR which hurts their defense massively.
14th Overall 7th in Conference	Rockford Dagger Courtney Bauman	This owner thinks highly of her team, and I can't deny that, however these other teams just had a bit more. Quality forwards and a less than average defense. Goalies for this team will expose if this team can do well or not. Picking up Petersen has me optimistic but goaltenders that had been drafted are the worst pairing in the league in this reporter's opinion. Hopeful for this team but had to be harsh as it's my job.
